Don't Delay

See Why - The Ultimate Delay: Not!

Can you delay death? Possibly.

Can you avoid death? No one can. Everyone will need to deal with it.

The following story is an after death experience.

One minute I was in a hospital on a stretcher in pain, the next minute I was walking through a very brightly lit, large doorway type opening, in a very different place. The pain was completely gone.

I stepped through the doorway and what I saw was more beautiful than anything I have seen before. In the distance was a huge city made out of gold. From where I was standing, the entrance was visible, with the rest of the city stretching out as far as I could see.

I have never before seen a city made of gold – at least that is what it appeared to be. The buildings were a deep golden color. Everything was warm and vibrant. The trim around the buildings was different colors – deep purples and blues. The different colors almost looked like jewels of some kind. Everything had a royal look to it – as if it was a palace or a place for very important dignitaries.

Along with the incredible beauty was a smell and aroma, which was just simply relaxing and pleasing beyond description. My body and senses felt alive like they had never been before. At the same time, I felt a very deep relaxation and sense of peace.

There was clearly music being played in the distance, but the sound was so rich and full it was as if the musicians where playing just for me. The music had a beat that just made you want to dance. Combined with the smell and looks, this clearly had to be Heaven. No place on earth looked and felt anything like what was before me.

Having absorbed my initial view of the distant marvel, my attention turned to what was happening closer to me.

There was a pathway leading to a group of people. In front of me was a little girl, carrying a freshly cut flower, like a rose, but much more beautiful and colorful. There were a few more people in front of her, some had flowers and some did not. Maybe it was determined by their age. I just realized that I did not have one.

As I came closer to the group ahead, I saw the entrance to the city. There was what looked like a deep chasm or opening just before the city. Over this was a bridge leading into the doorway of the entrance.

On the other side of this bridge, I could see people jumping and waving to people ahead of me. Some of them were older; some were younger. All of them were exited and anxious for those ahead to come over.

There were now only two people in front of me and I could see more of what was going on.

The group ahead was mostly what looked like enormous creatures. They were tall and massive – at least 20 or 30 feet high. Their faces sort of resembled a human face, but were definitely not human.

The creatures color was a brilliant white. Whiter than anything I had seen before. Parts of their outline appeared golden, naturally fading in to the white. Majestic looking would be an understatement. I concluded they must be angels. Their sides could have been wings, but it was difficult to know for sure. Their whole body was proportionate and nothing looked out of place.

There were maybe a dozen of these angelic creatures standing in a small semi-circle, somewhat blocking the way into the city beyond.

In front of these creatures stood a man, average size, with really no unique features I could see. He was good looking and in good shape, but he was also the kind of person you could walk past on the street and not notice – a common kind of person.

As I watched more closely though, it became clear that this average looking man was the person who was in charge. He would periodically look at one of the creatures, and they knew instantly what the need was and took care of the matter immediately. The creatures towered in size over this man, making him look all the more authoritative as they carried out his every command.

At one point the little girl in front of me dropped her rose like flower she had been given. The man in front no more than looked at the dropped flower and then smiled at the little girl. Before the girl could smile back, one of these large creatures had almost instantly moved to the girl, had already picked up the flower, and was handing it back to her.

These creatures had abnormal strength and agility.

The little girl in front of me was now at the front of the line. The man in charge spoke to her briefly and then must have asked her a question as he was now waiting for her to respond.

She spoke only briefly, and then he gave her a big hug. The creatures parted so that there was a small opening between them leading to the bridge into the city. She ran through the opening, over the bridge and into the city where more people surrounded her and continued the hugging.

I was next in line, and my thoughts immediately turned to what must have happened with the little girl.

It was all too obvious now that the creatures controlled who entered the city and the man in charge determined when someone could go in. Nevertheless, what did he ask the little girl, which allowed her to enter so easily?

It had been a while since I was last in church, but I had gone to church – several times at least. I had even put some money in the offering plate when it passed by me. I did not use bad language, and always treated other people I knew kindly and with respect. I spent time with my kids. They were never in any big trouble - just the typical "kid stuff". Overall, I was a good person and lived a good, long life. I had no complaints.

Then it suddenly dawned on me why the little girl talked so briefly. She lived a short life, and being so young, she really had no chance to do good things in the world. I was confident now and my turn was next. I was ready!

He shook my hand, with a warm and firm grip. He spoke to me by name and welcomed me to eternity. He then said his name was Jesus.

Jesus then further explained that Heaven was just beyond the chasm, as I had already viewed, and He had only one simple question before letting me proceed.

Jesus looked me squarely in the eyes, his face was warm and compassionate, and then His words simply were "Why should I let you in to Heaven?"

He stopped speaking and I knew it was my turn to talk. His question was easy, and I was prepared. I started; "I didn’t go to church all the time, but when I did I always put a little something in the offering plate when it was passed. I took good care of my wife and family – spent lots of time with my kids. A few times, I volunteered at the homeless shelter in the city. I never used bad language at home or at work. I had a little to drink now and then but almost never drank too much. I coached a boy’s soccer team…"

Jesus interrupted me; "You missed it, the answer was simple." Immediately a large, flat-panel screen appeared in front of me. Could have been plasma, I don’t know – Didn’t see any wires, but it was big enough for life size images.

The screen came to life with a full-sized picture of me, great resolution – picture looked real. I had not been paying attention to the angelic creatures, but they had quietly circled around me isolating me from everything else. Because of their enormous size, it also became darker - I guess to see the screen better. It also felt as if there were more of them.

Jesus began to speak to me again "While on earth there was only one simple requirement for you to secure your home in my Heavenly Kingdom for all eternity. That requirement was simply to allow me to come into your heart. I knocked on your door, you needed to open the door and let me in. Since you refused entry to me while on earth, you will not be allowed entry into my Heavenly Kingdom."

I was briefly stunned, not quite sure what to say. However, before I could say anything, the picture on the screen changed.

It was of me when I was 7 years old. I was playing in the family room and the television was on. Nobody else was watching, someone had just left it on. There was a preacher talking about the Bible and Jesus and about accepting Him into your heart. I thought about that and wondered if it was real. Something inside of me was bothering me and felt like I should respond. I did not. I asked my dad about it later and he said forget it. The television preachers only want your money.

The screen changed to a picture of me when I was 12. My cousin was doing something he called "Profession of Faith" in his church. They invited our whole family so we were all present. The preacher talked about asking Jesus into your heart; what it means, and why you should do it. He explained that Jesus dies on the cross for all of our sins, and that by letting Him into our hearts we would spend eternity in Heaven with Him.

I thought about what this preacher said for some time, but never talked with anyone or did anything about it. I would try to forget about it, but something inside of me kept bringing it back to mind. Eventually though, I thought less and less about it.

The screen then moved ahead several years of my life. I was at my grandmother’s funeral. She was a very nice and caring grandmother. She lived a good, long life and died from natural causes. She, too, would talk about Jesus with us. One time though, I think my dad was mad at her for doing so and told her to leave us kids alone.

The funeral home preacher also talked about Heaven and Hell. He explained what we needed to do in order to spend eternity in Heaven. He talked about asking Jesus into our hearts. I didn’t really pay much attention. I was busy in High School and had many friends. I did miss my grandmother, but quite honestly, I wanted to be back with my friends.

It was at this point that the screen paused and Jesus spoke again.
"Your heart was beginning to grow cold toward me. You continued to ignore my knocking at the door of your heart. You see, all you needed to do was to let Me in, just a simple prayer: Jesus, please come into my heart. God the Father wants for all people to spend enternity in Heaven. However, God is perfect, and your sins keep you separated from Him. I died on the cross for all of your sins. As a result, God no longer sees your sins, I covered them all! There was no sin too big that I did not die for. The Holy Spirit simply knocks on your Heart's door, to let me in. There was nothing more required from you, other than to let me in. I did all the work so you could spend eternity with Me in Heaven."

The screen started again. There were a lot more times I heard the same message about Heaven. Jesus was right; I wanted nothing to do with it any more. I thought Christians were a bunch of wimps who needed something to explain why they were incapable of doing things for themselves. So they believed in Jesus and everything then had a purpose.

The final scene on the screen was in my hospital room, shortly before I stood where I am now. The nurse said that there was a hospital preacher in the hallway and he wanted to talk with me. She asked me if that would be ok? I said no. I wanted nothing to do with him.

The screen stopped, and immediately disappeared from sight.

Jesus looked me squarely in the face. I could no longer look directly in His eyes. He said; "You rejected me while you lived on earth. Your choice was simple, but you said no. Now leave me! You have no part in my Heavenly Kingdom." He disappeared from my sight.

The creatures still surrounded me. Immediately though, two of them separated leaving an opening. I could not really see much beyond, as it was dark and grey. One thing I knew for sure, though, is it was not the Heavenly city. I stepped into the darkness, and began to fall.

Does this all sound too impossible?

Jesus said;
"Behold I stand at the door and knock, if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him..."
(Revelation 3:20a)

Is Jesus knocking on your heart's door?

Do not put it off another day! Believe in Him.

Ask Him to come in to your heart by faith, and ask Him to reveal Himself to you.

Open the Bible to the Gospel of John and read what God says about Jesus, about you, and about being born again.

The Bible says there is only one way to Heaven

Jesus said; "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me."
(John 14:6)

Good works cannot save you!

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."
(Ephesians 2:8-9)

Are you willing to risk your eternal destination to prove you are right, and that the above scenario could never happen to you?

Do not ignore "Jesus knocking on your door"!

Follow the next steps and you will end up understanding how to be saved.

It then simply becomes a decision for you to make. This is a series of Bible verses from the New Testament book of Romans.

Step 1: Admit that you are a sinner.

Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

All of us have sin in our hearts. We were born with sin and are under the power of sin's control.

Step 2: Understand that you deserve death for your sin.

Romans 6:23a "...The wages of sin is death..."

Sin has an ending - it results in death. We all face a physical death, which is a result of sin. However, a worse death is spiritual death, which alienates or separates us from God, and will last for all eternity. The Bible teaches us that there is a place called the Lake of Fire where lost people will be in torment forever. It is the place where the "spiritually dead" will remain; separated from God and those who have accepted His gift.

Step 3: Ask God to forgive you and save you from your sins.

Romans 6:23b "...But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

Salvation is a gift from God to you! You cannot earn this gift through good works, but rather you must simply reach out and receive it.

Step 4: Give your life to God.

His love poured out in Jesus on the cross is your only hope to have forgiveness and change. His love brought you out of being a slave to sin. His love is what saves you -- not religion, good works, or church membership. God loves you!

Romans 5:8, "God demonstrates His own love for us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us!"

When Jesus died on the cross, He paid sin's penalty. He paid the price for all sin, and when He took all the sins of the world on Himself on the cross, He brought us out of slavery to sin and death! The only condition is that we believe in Him; and what He has done for us. Further, we need to understand that we have joined with Him, and that He is our life. He did all this because He loved us and gave Himself for us!

Step 5: Call out to God in the name of Jesus!

Romans 10:13 "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved!"

Salvation and spending eternity in Heaven is simple!

Romans 10:9,10 "...If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation."

What to pray (example):
Dear God, I am a sinner and need forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His precious blood and died for my sin. I am willing to turn from sin. I now invite Christ to come into my heart and life as my personal Savior.

"But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:"
(John 1:12)

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
(2 Corinthians 5:17)

If you just accepted Jesus into your heart, please let us know. God Bless You
